Enrolment

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

Our Leadership Team and office staff are available to discuss enrolment issues and to offer support to parents as they consider their options.

Enrolment forms can be collected from the general office. Families who require assistance in completing the enrolment form may request assistance from the school.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

  1. students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time
  2. all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

ENROLMENT PROCESS

To ensure that your child is enrolled at Tallarook Primary School you need to:

  1. Check that Tallarook Primary School is your local neighbourhood school by checking your address at www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au. If Tallarook Primary School is not your Local school, you may still contact the school and request a tour and enrolment information.
  2. Email us at tallarook.ps@education.vic.gov.au and we will get back to you within two business days or alternatively you can or call on 03 5792 1752 to arrange a personal tour with the principal.
  3. Bring completed enrolment form.
  4. Bring your child’s original birth certificate or passport which will be checked and returned to you. A copy of the birth certificate or passport will be retained by the school.
  5. Supply the completed School Entry Immunisation Certificate which is sent to you from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (Phone: 1800 653 809) by the start of school year. A photocopy of the School Entry Immunisation Certificate will be retained by the school.
  6. If your child has asthma or anaphylaxis, please provide a management plan and medication prior to commencing school.

Prep/Foundation enrolment

Starting school is an exciting time for children, parents and carers. We want to help make the enrolment process as easy as possible for you.  Each year, the department releases the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers, with information packs available from the beginning of Term 2 for students commencing foundation/prep the following year. These information packs, and other important information, can be found on the Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) page of the Victorian Government website.
