School Council

The Tallarook School Council is the school body comprising of Parent, Community and DEECD representatives that have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Determining educational policy, goals, and priorities of the Strategic Plan.
  • Approving and monitoring school budgets.
  • Ensuring that moneys are spent on appropriate purposes.
  • Appointing Principals.
  • Developing and approving various codes and policies.
  • Preparing Annual Reports to the Department of Education.
  • Overseeing buildings and grounds to ensure good order and condition.
  • Providing necessary cleaning and sanitation services.
  • Generally stimulating interest in the school.
  • Being accountable to the community.

Early each year elections are held for positions on the school council. Please give this serious consideration when nominations are called for through ClassDojo.
