How is Tallarook Primary School implementing MHiPS?
in 2026 we have become a partnership school with The Resilience Project. The teachings of TRP (The Resilience Project) are embedded throughout the school day and in addition, all students have targeted wellbeing time with a focus on GEM – Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness.
Our school’s scope and sequence for learning embeds RRRR (Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships Program) a core component of the Victorian Curriculum designed to promote social, emotional and positive relationship skills and further embed a culture of respect and equality across the entire school.
What is The Resilience Project (TRP)?
The Resilience Project is an Australian program, that teaches positive mental health strategies to support wellbeing and build resilience in every home, every day. The program focuses on three key evidence-based pillars – Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) – to build resilience, reduce anxiety and foster happiness.
Gratitude – Leads to increased feelings of happiness and a more positive outlook on life.
Empathy – Fosters deeper connections, increases our likelihood of acting kindly, and helps and helps us experience positive emotions.
Mindfulness – Allows us to be responsive rather than reactive and to live with greater balance, presence and connection.
Why wellbeing?
With staggering statistics among children, young people and adults in Australia, we’re working to drive change through a preventative approach.
1 in 4 primary students - experience high levels of depression or anxiety
1 in 3 secondary students - experience high levels of depression or anxiety
3 in 4 teachers - are experiencing burnout
2 in 5 adults - experience a mental disorder in their lifetime
TRP School Wellbeing Program is a fun, engaging and evidence-based program that builds a resilient school community.
